"My
soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior."
~Luke
1:46b-47~
It
is good to have you here. I'm so excited about what God is going to be
teaching us as
I put this page together. I'm completely in His hands here. I just pray
you are moved to
lean on Him when you leave here. Maybe even make a life changing decision
to accept
Christ as your Lord and Savior. Well, let's open our Bibles and dive in and
see what God has to say.
When
we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior we make a commitment to let Christ live
in us and we surrender every aspect of our lives to him. Our decisions
become His
will in all things. He becomes our focus in how we live. This begins our
relationship with
God. I know for me, I pray for Him to fill me every day. Satisfaction comes
with complete
and unquestioned surrender. We are better off for it because God knows
what is
best for us. And all things, in the end, are for His glory!
Here
is an excerpt from the Men's Devotional Bible:
"I'm
part of the fellowship of the unashamed.
I have the Holy Spirit power. The
die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision
has been made-I'm a disciple of his. I won't look back,
let up, slow down, back away, or be still. My past
is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future
is secure. I'm finished and done with low living, sight
walking, smooth knees, colorless giving, tamed visions, worldly
talking, cheap giving and dwarfed goals. I
no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits or
popularity. I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised,
regarded or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean in his
presence, walkby patience, am uplifted by prayer, and
I labor with power."

"For
the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost."

Our
Salvation This is the most important thing I want to share with
you. Did you
know God has a plan for you? God loves you and wants you to experience
His peace and life. John 3:16 says it simply, "For God so loved the
world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him
shall not perish but have eternal life." It continues in John 3:17 to say,
"For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but
to save the world through him." Isn't that awesome? God genuinely loves
you!
But being at peace with God is not automatic. We are, by nature, sinners
and, therefore, separated from God. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have
sinned and fall short of the glory of God." That's our problem.
But there is a remedy! God's remedy! When Christ died on the cross and
rose from the grave, He paid the penalty for our sins. 1 Peter 2:24 says,
"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die
to our sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been
healed." "God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith
in his blood." (Romans 3:25) God's love for us bridges the gap of
separation between us and Him. We are saved! "For it is by grace you
have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourself, it is
the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8,9)
When you receive Christ by personal invitation, a personal relationship
with God begins. John 1:12 reassures us that "Yet to all who receive
him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to be called
the children of God."
To receive Christ, you need to do four things:
1. ADMIT
your spiritual need. "I am a sinner."
2. REPENT
and be willing to turn from your sin.
3. BELIEVE that
Jesus Christ died for you on the cross.
4. RECEIVE,
through prayer, Jesus Christ into your heart and life.
Prayer
of salvation
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness.
Help me to turn away from my sin. I believe you died on the cross for my
sin. I invite you to come into my heart and life as my Lord and Savior.
I am ready to trust and follow you completely. Thank you for forgiving
my sins. Thank you for giving me eternal life. In Jesus' name. Amen.

and I know you will enjoy what he teaches.
October
15, 2001 This is a prayer said at our church not long after the attack on our
country.
Lt. Colonel Thomas of the USAF touched our hearts with this awesome prayer
and I wanted to share it with you.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You this morning in the shadow of America's darkest hour;
seeking Your Peace in our spirit while nearly overwhelmed by the tidal
wave
of emotions in our heart. We are particularly tormented by how to respond
toward those whose terrifying actions made this past Tuesday (Sept. 11,01)
so horribly dark and etched upon our souls countless images of senseless
brutality that can never be understood.
We know as believers that Your Word instructs us to love our enemies and
pray for those who hate us. Yet as citizens - and as members of the world
community - we are outraged beyond description by the attack upon our
homeland and the senseless killing of so many innocent men, women, and
children. So in humble obedience to Scripture - and with our feelings lagging
well behind our faith - we come before you now to pray for our enemies
and
for those who would consider them.
For our attackers, Lord, we pray that You would pierce them with conviction
of Your Holy Spirit, that they might not experience a moment's peace until
they are broken before You in total repentance. And in that moment, we
pray
that You would remove the veil Satan has placed over their eyes and forever
shine Your light into their hearts. We know that Jesus died on the cross
for
them too, and we pray now for their salvation and Your Lordship in their
lives.
For our leaders, Lord, political and military alike, we pray for wisdom,
courage,
and tenacity: Wisdom to discern the way forward; courage to translate their
resolve into action; and tenacity to stay the course long after the dust
has
settled. We thank You for our President, his Cabinet, the Congress, the
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and our senior military commanders
around the world. We ask Your hand to be upon them.
For our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines, Lord, we pray for Your
Covering as they stand an unceasing watch to preserve our freedoms. They
are so dear to us, God, as the parents, spouses, siblings, and grown children
of families in every American community. Yet they are also an instrument
of
our national security policy. We thank You now for each one, and pray as
they are placed in harm's way that You would make secure their footing,
make steady their aim, and make certain their fire.
Lastly, for us as Your people, Lord, we pray You would ensure that ours
is
a righteous anger toward our enemies. Please fill us with an indignation
compelled by Your Will to do justice and to preclude future tragedy. And
guard our hearts against the poison of vengeance that would seek to repay
our nation's great suffering by inflicting even greater pain upon our enemies.
By Your Strength, Lord, not our own, grant that we might choose to love
in
Your spirit rather to than hate in our flesh.
In all this, Father, we pray You would be glorified. For it's in Jesus'
name
we pray.
Amen.
What
Is Prayer?
I
am feeling a desire to talk with you about prayer. What is prayer? Why
should we pray? When
should we pray? How should we pray? Prayer is an important part of a Christian's life.
