Welcome
to
Sadie's
Christmas Corner!
"For
to us a child is born, to us a son is given,
and
the government will be on his shoulders.
And
he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting
Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah
9:6
Christmas
is probably my favorite time of the year. It's a time to
celebrate
the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A time for
families
to gather together. A time to remind ourselves of the greatest
gift
we could be given.
"Therefore
the lord himself will give you a sign: The
virgin
will be with child and will give birth to a
son,
and will call him Immanuel."
~Isaiah
7:14~
Immanuel
means " With us God" or "God with us."
The
Greek Immanouel is transliterated from the
Hebrew
Immanu'el.
El means God. The rest of
the
word means with us. So literally, the term mean
the
"with us God." Isn't that awesome? He is a
"with
us" God. We exist so He can be with us.
No
other reason but for His pleasure to interact
with
us. The "with us God."

information quoted from Beth Moore.~
A
Christmas Prayer
By Robert
Louis Stevenson
Loving
Father, help us to remember the birth of Jesus, that we
may
share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds,
and
the worship of the wise men.
Close
the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world.
Let
kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting.
Deliver
us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach
us
to be merry with clear hearts.
May
the Christmas morning make us happy to be Thy children, and
the
christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts,
forgiving
and forgiven, for Jesus' sake.
Amen.

Our
Christmas Tree
Our
Christmas tree is usually the last thing to be decorated. We always
have
Christmas music playing and then we pass out the ornaments.
We
enjoy them each and every year no matter how many times they
have
been placed on our tree. Do you know where the Christmas tree
originated
from? There are many specualtions. Below is an article
I
found just about that. It's an interesting read. Then read about
how
the national Christmas tree came to be.

Memories and Traditions
During
this time of the year, we can caught up in the hustle and
bustle
of the season that we forget to spend this time with family.
I
like to bring my family together and read Elizabeth Yates
beloved
Christmas classic "Once In A Year." It was published
in
1947, long before I was born, but it is still a precious book.
It
shares with the reader two old and familiar Christmas
legends:
the flowering forest and the barn animals talking at
midnight
with the true story of Christmas found in the Bible.
I
truly look forward to reading this with my children every year
not
to mention the family memory and tradition I am bringing to
the
holiday of Christmas in our home. Let me encourage you
to
do the same. Here are some ideas you can do to make
celebrating
Christmas more memorable for your family.

Decorating
Christmas
decorating is something I love to do. I put away my every
day
knickknacks and replace them with my chistmas decorations.
I
have several nativity scenes I display throughout the house. Those
are
a great way to introduce someone to Jesus. And I have other
decorations...wall
quilts, candles, knickknacks, etc., to display
as
well. In this spirit, I have found some sites that share
decorating
ideas for you. I hope to be adding more real soon.
